Making the Leap: From Law Enforcement and Marketing to Business Owners
Steven Mould and Lisa Lazure, partners in business and life, left jobs in law enforcement and marketing to start a knife company.
Steven Mould and Lisa Lazure left the security of salaried jobs for the uncertain world of entrepreneurship. The couple, partners in both business and life, joined with Steven's cousin to launch Flint & Flame, a knife company that has won a huge following among professional chefs and passionate home cooks.
In this interview, the second in our series entitled "Making the Leap to Entrepreneurship," Mould and Lazure talk with us about how the skills gained in their former professions (Mould was a police officer and Lazure a marketing executive in media and entertainment), prepared them for entrepreneurship, and how they underestimated how all-consuming it is to run your own show.
